We are so grateful to all of the people who have recently supported Alfe’s Cause by arranging and taking part in fundraisers for our charity. These include people taking part in the Rat Race Dirty Weekend, the Milton keynes half marathon and Ethan who had 2ft of his hair cut off to send to the Little Princess Trust where the hair will be made into a wig for a child who has lost their hair. He did this as a sponsored event and although he aimed to raise £100 he has currently raised over £450.
Our year as Sainsbury’s local charity of the year sadly finished at the end of May and we were really surprised to discover that the branch staff and customers had raised £3,000 for Alfe’s Cause. This money will enable us to continue running next year and been able to welcome more families when they need us.
We recently attended a day organised by Alfie Bears Journey Fund (http://www.alfiebearsjourney.co.uk/). At the event Alfe helped out dressing up with his friend and as a result we decided to invest in a lookalike Minion costume to use as our charity mascot. We chose a Minion lookalike because the colours match the gold childhood cancer ribbon colour.
